Beyond River Rock

Other casinos within reach of Richmond

River Rock is not the only casino in the area. Several others operate across Metro Vancouver and the surrounding cities, and the same provincial rules on age, identification and support apply at each of them.

No. 2Getting around from Richmond

From Bridgeport Station, next to River Rock, the Canada Line runs north to the downtown waterfront in about 18 minutes. Travellers heading to Parq Casino may find this the simplest starting point, though the desk does not have a confirmed station or walking route for that venue.

For the casinos in Delta, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam and Surrey, the desk does not hold confirmed transit details. You may wish to plan the journey with TransLink before setting out. Details on reaching River Rock itself are on the Canada Line and parking page.

No. 3Rules that apply at every B.C. casino

BCLC runs all commercial gambling in British Columbia, including casinos, on behalf of the province. As a result, the main entry rules are the same wherever you go.

  • Age: all players must be 19 or older.
  • Photo ID at the door: since June 26, 2023, every visitor must show original, physical government-issued photo ID to enter a B.C. casino. Photos or copies are not accepted. Security scans the ID and checks it against the list of people barred from gambling facilities. BCLC's announcement of the ID requirement explains the process, and Casinos BC lists accepted documents.
  • Smoking: provincial law bans smoking and vaping in indoor public places, and casinos are named among them. Details are on the province's smoke-free places page.
  • Cash: casinos verify the identity of anyone whose buy-ins or payouts reach $3,000 or more in a single day, and buy-ins of $10,000 or more within 24 hours require a source-of-funds declaration.

No. 4Support at every venue

GameSense Info Centres are located on or near the gaming floor in every B.C. casino and community gaming centre, with GameSense Advisors on site. Advisors may also be reached at 1-866-815-0222. The GameSense FAQ has more information.

Game Break, BCLC's voluntary self-exclusion program, applies across the province. Gambling Support BC offers free, confidential help 24 hours a day at 1-888-795-6111, or through gamblingsupportbc.ca. Further contacts are on the support services page.

Asked at the desk

Questions

Do I need ID to enter the other casinos near Richmond?
Yes. Since June 26, 2023, every visitor to a B.C. casino must show original government-issued photo ID at the door, and all players must be 19 or older.
Does Game Break cover casinos other than the one where I enrol?
BCLC's April 2025 fact sheet says anyone who enrols in Game Break is excluded from PlayNow and from all B.C. gambling facilities, wherever they enrol. A GameSense Advisor at 1-866-815-0222 can confirm the details.
